Vera Rossi “In limine”
13.05.26
Bologna
After graduating from high school, he continued his studies at Accademia Albertina, graduating in Painting in 1996.
Barin's works have not appeared frequently on the contemporary art market, due to his relatively sparse production, because of the technique he is fond of: graphite and ink on cardboard, and more recently mixed media using watercolors, tempera, and colored pencils. His work echoes the great Turin graphic tradition, and his teachers, from Boglione to Calandri and Saroni, have deeply influenced both the technique and the subjects of his drawings.
Since 2003, when he had his first solo exhibition at Galleria Davico in Turin and his work being managed by the longtime gallery owner Silvano Gherlone, he has collaborated with the most important Italian galleries in the contemporary figurative sector.
Important exhibitions were held in Milan, such as a solo show at Galleria Antonia Jannone in 2005 and his participation in the 2007 exhibition "Italian Art 1968-2007," curated by Vittorio Sgarbi, held at Palazzo Reale.
His collaboration with Galleria Forni started in 2008 with a solo exhibition titled "Disegni."
In 2009, he was invited to participate in the public exhibition "L'enigma del vero" curated by L. Gavioli at Galleria Civica di Palazzo Loffredo in Potenza.
In 2011, he was featured, along with Agostino Arrivabene and Paolo Schmidlin, in the exhibition "Magnifiche Ossessioni" at Galleria Bottega di San Luca in Turin.
In 2012, he won the 5th edition of "Movimento nelle Segrete di Bocca" art prize in Milan.
In 2013, he exhibited at various Italian and international contemporary art fairs with Benappi Gallery (Turin).
In 2014, some of his works were presented at the "3" exhibition at Museo del Territorio in Biella, together with photographers Stefano Ceretti and Amedeo Tosi.
In 2015, he started collaborating with Salamon & C Arte contemporanea Gallery in Milan.
Between 2016 and 2017, he participated in the first and second editions of Wopart "Work on Paper Art Fair" in Lugano with Salamon and Forni galleries in Bologna.
November 2017 - 2018: solo exhibition at Frascione Art Gallery in Florence.
In May 2024, he was presented by Professor Eleonora Frattarolo with a solo room at the 4th edition of the Rimini Drawing Biennale.
In 2025, after a period of exhibition silence of approximately eight years, started exhibiting again with a small solo show entitled "In Dialogue" at Galleria D'Arte Roccatre in Turin, where he presented a new body of work that marked the transition from monochrome to color without, however, rejecting his past work.
Over the years, his works have been presented at some of the most important national and international fairs, including Arte Fiera, Bologna, Miart, Milan, ArteVerona, Antiquari a Venaria, FlashBack Turin, ArtFoire, Paris, Art Miami, Florida.
