Shamiri Behi

Behi Shamiri, born in Teheran in 1955, left Iran at the age of 15.

He first attended the Academy Pietro Vannucci in Perugia and later the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris. He now lives and works between Paris and Italy.

The role of light is crucial in Shamiri’s paintings, it gives strength, volume, and contrast to a motionless painting, it is silent, measured. His gaze rests on the artist's world, revealing the figures’ souls, objects and landscapes purged of all superfluous detail.
